Our story
Rain-grown.
Slow-roasted.
Offline started with a simple observation: the best hour of the day was the one where nobody could reach us. We built a coffee around that hour, and then a brand around the coffee.
Log out. Brew in.
Where it grows
The Malnad hills do most of the work.
Malnad means "land of the hills" — the wet western belt of Karnataka where the monsoon arrives in June and does not really leave until October. Our estate sits at 1,100 metres outside Chikkamagaluru, under a canopy nobody cut down to make room for coffee. Around 3200mm of rain falls on it every year. The cherries ripen slowly because they have no choice, and slow is exactly what a dense, sweet bean needs.
3200mm
Annual monsoon
The Malnad belt catches one of the heaviest rainfalls in India. Slow water, slow cherry, dense bean.
1,100m
Elevation
High enough that the cherries ripen late and hard — the altitude does the work a roaster otherwise has to fake.
100%
Shade-grown
Under the original forest canopy: silver oak, pepper vine, wild jackfruit. Nothing was cleared to plant this.

Chikkamagaluru
Where coffee entered India four centuries ago, and where every bag on this site still comes from.
The decision
Why one direction.
Four moods = zero brand.
We had four routes on the wall and every one of them was defensible. That was the problem. Nature Modern gives the premium calm; the analog layer makes the name mean something. Every brand can show a forest — only Offline gives you a reason to put the phone down in it.
So we cut three routes and committed to one. The rain bars carry the analog idea, the forest carries the origin, and nothing else gets to join. A brand that says one thing on every surface is worth more than four brands that each say something clever once.
Why copper
Green tells the origin story.
Copper makes it yours.
Blue Tokai, Third Wave and Starbucks all live in green, cream and earth. Stand in that field and you disappear into it. Copper is the filter-coffee davara — the small steel and brass ritual every South Indian household already recognises, and the one colour on the shelf that nobody else had claimed.
It is one accent, used sparingly: the first rain bar, the rule under a headline, the button you actually press. Restraint is what keeps it worth something.

Brand essence
Five words we answer to.
Rooted
Malnad soil, Malnad rain, Malnad hands. The origin is not a marketing region — it is the address.
Calm
Nothing on this brand shouts. Wide margins, quiet greens, one accent. Premium is a lowered voice.
Analog
Rain bars, receipts, monospace. The interface of a world that existed before the feed.
Honest
Real weights, real altitudes, real roast dates. No badge we cannot defend on the phone.
Deliberate
Roasted to order, sealed the same day, sent when it is ready. Speed is not the point.
Bean to davara
Six steps, none of them rushed.
- 01
Picked
Ripe cherry only, hand-selected across several passes as the slope ripens unevenly.
- 02
Washed in monsoon runoff
Fermented and washed in water coming straight off the hill — the reason the cup finishes clean.
- 03
Patio-dried
Spread thin on the estate patio and turned by hand until the moisture reads right.
- 04
Slow-roasted
Small batches, long development. Built for a filter, not for a photograph.
- 05
Sealed
One-way valve, roast date on the bag, boxed the same day it comes off the drum.
- 06
Your davara
Poured, cooled between tumbler and davara, drunk with the phone face-down.
Less scrolling.
More living.
That is the whole pitch. Pick a bag, put the phone face-down, and let twenty minutes belong to you again.
